Lynching in Virginia Events

Dr. Gianluca De Fazio, Assistant Professor of Justice Studies at JMU, has done extensive work to research and document the history of lynchings in Virginia. Wednesday, April 11th

Dr. De Fazio will introduce and discuss the “Racial Terror: Lynching in Virginia, 1877-1927,” website on April 11th, 2018 at noon in Roop 208, James Madison University.

Thursday, April 19

Professor Gianluca De Fazio and Kevin Hegg will deliver a talk on “Documenting and Mapping Racial Terror: Lynching in Virginia, 1877-1927” on Thursday, April 19, 2018, 4PM-5PM, Carrier 301.

Friday, April 20th

Dr. De Fazio will deliver a lecture on lynching in the Shenandoah Valley at the invitation of the Shenandoah Valley Black Heritage Project on April 20th, 2018 at 2PM at the Lucy F. Simms Center.
