Sunday, June 24 at 10:00am – 12:00pm
Shenandoah Valley Juvenile Center
300 Technology Dr, Staunton, Virginia 24401

This event is co-sponsored by the Staunton Augusta Waynesboro Citizen Action Network and the Charlottesville Area Immigrant Resource & Advocacy Coalition. The County Sheriffs have been notified and are aware of the event.

The Detention Center’s rough property lines are indicated by the orange perimeter on the above image. There will be visible indicators in place, and participants are requested to honor the boundaries and stay on the outside of any orange tape/lines or indicators. From the parking area, you will have to walk to the front of the center, while remaining outside the Detention Center property line.

Access can be made via Technology Drive and Route 11 at the controlled intersection. We will have a Deputy stationed at the “Blue Star” on Technology Drive to direct traffic to the main parking area (open paved area) towards the Government Center, and signs to indicate parking areas. This area is open and will accommodate a great number of vehicles.

Elderly and handicapped participants will be allowed to continue past the Deputy on Technology Drive and will be permitted to park on Technology Drive near the Detention Center. Please keep in mind that we are required to keep access to the Middle River Regional Jail open to allow for the passage of any emergency vehicles that require access to the facility.

Participants in this event may also be interested in another upcoming rally on June 30, sponsored by the Harrisonburg Democratic Committee. See this event on MoveOn.org or Facebook. The Valley Justice Coalition has no involvement in this event.
