Sentara RMH Life Recovery Program

The Sentara RMH LIFE Recovery program provides outpatient substance abuse treatment for people age 13 and over, including an intensive outpatient program, support groups, and medication-assisted treatment. Allan Hamby at RMH is one of very few doctors in town who is Drug Abuse Treatment Act waivered and therefore can prescribe buprenorphine.

Community Services Board (CSB)

CSB provides client-centered, individualized, need based, and strength based outpatient therapy and case management services for individuals with substance use issues. As of 2017, they also offer an intensive outpatient program (IOP). In fiscal year 2016, CSB spent $1,189,900 providing substance abuse services to 501 clients.

New Season Harrisonburg Treatment Center

New Season Harrisonburg Treatment Center offers medication-assisted opioid abuse treatment and accompanying substance abuse counseling. Monthly Costs to clients: $480 methadone, $640 buprenorphine, $780 suboxone

Residential Recovery Programs

Shenandoah Valley Teen Challenge

Teen Challenge is a national residential addiction recovery program which exclusively serves adults at their nearby Basye location. Teen Challenge has a strong emphasis on biblical teaching and provides vocational training. Participants typically stay in the program for 12-18 months.

Life Center of Galax

The Life Center of Galax is an all-inclusive professional addiction recovery program which accepts most insurance.

The Healing Place

The Healing Place is a 214-bed residential recovery program in Richmond with distinct stages and the option to continue up to 18 months at no cost to the client.

Edgehill Recovery Retreat Center

Edgehill is a peer-run, 12-step focused, non-medical, residential intensive self-development program for addiction in Winchester. Edgehill does not accept any insurance.

Boxwood Recovery Center

Boxwood Recovery Center in Culpeper which offers a 14-60 day program with 32 beds. Clients must be referred by the Harrisonburg-Rockingham Community Services Board, and must be abstinent from alcohol for seven days and from all other drugs for 10 days prior to admission.

New Life Recovery Center

New Life Recovery Center is a 30-day program in Fairlawn run by New River Valley Community Services with 10 beds.

Sober living communities
